| PREREQUISITES | -Successfully complete and receive a course completion certificate for a lead-based paint inspector training course -Certified, licensed, or registered as an industrial hygienist, engineer, architect, or possess certification in a related field, OR; -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years experience in lead, asbestos, other environmental remediation work, or building construction, OR; -Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years experience in lead, asbestos, other environmental remediation work, or building construction, OR; -High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in lead, asbestos, other environmental remediation or building construction. |

| REFRESHER TRAINING | 8 hour refresher training course every two (2) years. |
| RECIPROCITY | There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source. |
