DISCIPLINE Lead Abatement Supervisor
COURSE DURATION 32 hours
PREREQUISITES -1 year experience as certified lead abatement worker OR -2 years experience in building trades or related field
ACCREDITING BODY Texas Department of State Health Services
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS -$308 every two years -$458 if expired for 90 days or less -$608 if expired for more than 90 days but less than one year
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. $50 exam fee.
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS $1030 fee every two years
REFRESHER TRAINING Re-certification occurs when the Lead Abatement Supervisor completes a lead abatement supervisor refresher training course no sooner than 180 days prior to the certification expiration date, and submits a renewal application to DSHS, along with a $308 fee.
RECIPROCITY There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source.
